中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院应用数学研究所所长。主要从事概率统计，量子信息和数学物理研究，具体包括量子测量、 量子关联、 量子计算、 量子统计推断、量子随机分析、算子理论、调和分析等领域，论文被引用9500余次（Google Scholar），2014年以来连续入选Elsevier的 Most Cited Chinese Researchers名单，应邀在第八届国际工业与应用数学大会作一小时报告。在Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society、Comptes Rendus de l'Académie des Sciences (Paris)、IEEE Transactions on Information Theory、Journal of Operator Theory、Letters in Mathematical Physics、Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society等数学刊物发表论文60余篇， 在Physical Review Letters、 Physics Today、Physical Review A、Foundations of Physics、Annals of Physics、Annalen der Physik、International Journal of Theoretical Physics、Journal of Statistical Physics 等物理刊物发表论文120余篇。
